My journey through the world of food.
Hello everyone today’s bento was put together for my daughter and me for today. I know very little about Chinese New Year and neither of us are Valentine people but we always like doing things for each other on special occasions. I decided for today to fix a combine bento for the two of us instead of two separate bentos. This gave me a chance to use one of my larger two tier bentos that I don’t use very often.
What I made for today’s bento was in tray 1 bacon wrapped chicken in sesame sauce, fiesta rice balls, penne pasta salad with roasted broccoli with garlic and parmesan and cheddar cheese hearts. Plus baby carrot sticks and tortilla hearts.

It looks yum! I love the heart shaped tortillas. That's such a great idea!
Thanks Kristin, I loved making them once I picked up the heart shaped cutters. I've always cut up store baught tortillas in wedges to make chips but my next move will be to tackle making the tortillas myself. Stay tuned. Thanks for stopping by.
everything is perfect and delicious
Thanks Claudia, I got the idea for the rice balls from your post about your Grandmothers rice balls. Thier different but because of her recipe I was able to work mine out so thanks so much to the both of you. I will have a post up about how I made them so come back and see how I did mine.
Dear Friend!
Greetings again from Shizuoka, Japan!
Thank you so much for updating your Comment Box!
Your bento certainly adds a new twist to this originally Japanese concept!
Looking forward to more of them!
Cheers,
Robert-Gilles
Thanks Robert-Gilles, I appreciate your observation of my bentos. I've seen your wife's bentos and they are so nutrtios and healthy looking I bet they taste delicious. As I am still learning how to cook a lot of Japanese dishes I often have to improvise with my own twist. Thanks for stopping by.
You and your daughter must be having a great fun with this bento! A lot of yummy foods there ... She will ask more and more :)
